You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any text message from us. After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message. To re-subscribe, text START to our number. For help, reply HELP or contact us at info@hussarstables.com.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding vendors acting solely on our behalf to deliver messages. SMS consent is not a condition of purchasing any service from Hussar Stables.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
5.1 Service Providers
We share information with vendors who process it on our behalf and may only use it to provide services to us: Stripe (payments), Barn OS on Neon and Vercel (scheduling, membership and messaging software and hosting), Twilio (text messages), Resend (email), Google (calendar sync for instructors), Anthropic (drafting replies and training summaries for staff to review), and Microsoft Clarity (site usage analytics, when you accept cookies).
5.1a Advertising platforms ("sharing" under California law)
If you accept cookies on our Site, Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) receive information about your visit (pages viewed, the fact that you booked, and identifiers from their cookies). When you submit a quiz or booking form, we may also send Meta a hashed version of your email or phone number and your IP address so they can measure which ads led to bookings. California law calls this "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page; we also treat a Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out. We never share children's names or details with advertising platforms.
5.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Hussar Stables, our members, or the public.
5.3 Emergency Situations
In a medical emergency involving you or your minor child, we may share relevant health information with emergency medical personnel.
5.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your personal information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to the same privacy protections described in this policy.
5.5 With Your Consent
We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.
6. Payment Data Security
All payment transactions are processed through PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processors. We do not store, transmit, or have access to your full credit card numbers, CVV codes, or bank account details on our servers. Payment processors we use maintain their own privacy policies governing the use of your financial information.
Membership billing is handled via recurring charges to the payment method on file. You may update your payment method at any time by contacting us. In the event of a data breach affecting payment information held by a third-party processor, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage). Third-party trackers load only after you accept them in the cookie banner; until then nothing from these providers runs.
- Essential: required for the Site to function (your cookie choice, a booking hold in progress, security). Cannot be disabled.
- Advertising measurement (with consent): the Google Ads tag and the Meta Pixel record page views and bookings so we can measure our ads. These set third-party cookies (for example
_fbp,_fbc,_gcl_au). - Session analytics (with consent): Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used — scrolling, clicks and mouse movement — to help us improve the Site. It is never loaded on pages where you enter personal or health details (booking, waiver, membership, events).
Change your choice at any time on Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information or through your browser settings. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out.
8. Children's Privacy
Hussar Stables provides services to minor children under the supervision and consent of their parents or legal guardians. Children never create accounts with us and we never collect information from a child directly: a parent or guardian enters a rider's details, signs waivers on the child's behalf, and manages the account. We collect information about minors only as necessary to provide equestrian services and maintain safety records.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through our website without parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without proper consent, please contact us immediately at info@hussarstables.com and we will promptly delete such information.
Health disclosures and emergency contact information for minor participants are collected and retained solely for safety purposes and are not used for marketing.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
As a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to know: request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, purposes, and categories of third parties with whom it is shared.
- Right to delete: request deletion of personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to opt out of sale/sharing: we do not sell personal information. We share limited data with advertising platforms (Section 5.1a) only if you accept cookies. Opt out at any time on Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information; a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser is honored automatically.
- Right to limit use of sensitive information: we use sensitive personal information (such as health disclosures) only to provide our services and maintain safety records.
- Right to non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
To exercise any of these rights, submit a verifiable consumer request to info@hussarstables.com or text us at (661) 486-4659. Members can also request deletion from the Membership page of their member area. We will respond within 45 days. You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specifically:
| Data Type | Retention Period |
|---|---|
| Signed waivers and liability releases | 7 years from date of signing (California statute of limitations) |
| Health and safety disclosures | Duration of membership + 3 years |
| Payment records | 7 years (IRS and California tax requirements) |
| Lesson and booking history | 3 years after last activity |
| Marketing communications consent | Until opt-out + 3 years |
| Website analytics data | 26 months (aggregated/anonymized) |
| Emergency contact information | Duration of active membership |
11. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include secure HTTPS transmission, access controls, and use of PCI-DSS compliant payment processors. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
12. Third-Party Links
Our Site may contain links to third-party websites, booking platforms, or social media pages. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites.
