Horse training

Send your horse into training — or learn to ride it the way it deserves

Every horse starts with an evaluation ride so we agree on where it is and where it's going. From there, we build a program around your goals: I train your horse, you ride with me on it, or both.

Full training

Your horse in a structured program with me riding it several times a week — classical dressage foundations first, then obstacles and the full Working Equitation picture. Regular owner rides so the training transfers to you, not just to the horse.

Training rides + lessons on your horse

Keep your routine; add a trainer. Training rides on your horse plus lessons where you ride it with me — the fastest way to fix what's holding the two of you back.

What a session looks like

Warm-up on the flat with dressage work that actually means something — straightness, lightness, transitions. Then the obstacle course: gate, bridge, garrocha, bell, slalom, livestock pen. Every session ends with you riding something you couldn't ride at the start of it.

Questions people ask first

Do I need my own horse?

No. The Working Equitation Club puts you on a fully trained club horse every week. If you own a horse, training and clinics are built around riding it.

What's the difference between training and the Club?

Training is about your horse: I ride it, you ride it with me, or both. The Club is about you — a weekly immersive session on a ride-ready horse, no ownership required.

My horse has never seen an obstacle. Is that a problem?

That's the normal starting point. Everything is introduced in hand and at walk first — the horse learns to think, not just to react. Green and nervous horses do well here.

Can I come try it once before committing?

Yes — a clinic is the best first step with your own horse; without one, book an intro lesson and we'll put you on a club horse. Text us and we'll steer you right.

Where exactly are you?

Hansen Dam Horse Park, 11127 Orcas Ave, Lake View Terrace, CA 91342 — off the 210 in the north San Fernando Valley. We also train in Palmdale.
